The Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis all attended the event in Glasgow—making the outing the first official time that the family have been seen publicly in Scotland.
The Diamonds lost 46-45 in the semi-final against Jamaica, losing their Commonwealth Games title in the process and marking the first time in the games’ history that the Australian netballers haven’t made the gold medal match.
In a post to Instagram, the Prince and Princess of Wales said that the atmosphere at this year’s Commonwealth Games was “incredible”, and “Watching world-class talent compete and seeing the power of sport to bring people together is truly special.”
